RINGWOOD Town continued their impressive form, beating Hamble 1-0 at home to seal a Hampshire Senior Invitational Supplementary Cup final spot.
The visitors struck the post twice and missed several decent chances as Ringwood were fortunate to maintain a clean sheet as Ryan Hamm's second-half goal was enough to seal progression.
With the match kicking off in the rain, Hamble had the majority of early possession and could have taken the lead but for wayward finishing.
Ringwood grew into the game and took their fair share of possession, with striker Hamm almost breaking the deadlock. However, keeper Rory Anderson held the goalbound header well on 20 minutes.
Ringwood rode their luck as the half ended, with Hamble twice going close, when a header struck the post and another went wide.
Richard Morse's men came out for the second half, and they quickly took the lead when captain Hamm's far-post header flew past Anderson to put Ringwood in the driving seat.
Hamble refused to lie down, and they almost levelled the match in the 80th minute. However, fortuitously for the hosts, the shot rebounded off the post and away from danger.
A red card reduced Hamble to 10 men with moments left as Ringwood's place in the final was assured.
After the match, Ringwood manager Morse said: "I'm really pleased for the players and the club to get to the final. Whether it's the primary cup or the supplementary, it's always nice to reach a final, and it will be a good experience for myself and the players.
"We will approach it the same way as we always do for a game and hope we can put on a good display."
Ringwood Town will play the winner of the other Hampshire Senior Invitational Supplementary Cup semi-final: Brockenhurst or Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Brockenhurst's place in the competition was reinstated after their 4-3 defeat to Combined Counties Division One side Cove FC after they were ejected from the competition for fielding an ineligible player.
Ringwood qualified for the Hampshire Senior Invitational Supplementary Cup knockout stages after finishing fourth in the group stage thanks to a 2-0 win over Brockenhurst, who play in the league above.
They automatically progressed from the first round after US Portsmouth failed to fulfil their fixture due to their progression in the FA Vase before beating Hythe & Dibden 4-1 in the quarter-final.
