NEW Milton ruthlessly dispatched bottom-of-the-league Locksheath Pumas in a massive 71-0 scoreline at Norman’s Way.
Hosts New Milton stretched their winning run to four games by running in an impressive 11 tries while shutting out the Pumas.
Milton quickly settled into the action, and Chris Conacher soon touched down for the first try after an Alex Everett-Bolter break.
Jack Corbett followed that up with a quickly taken penalty on the halfway line before playing in Jude Payne to score a converted effort.
Locksheath had a period of pressure, but New Milton managed to clear for a line-out on the halfway line. The forwards won the ball before releasing the backs. The ball made its way to Connor Hammerstone, who crossed for a try.
Christian Brown then passed multiple tackle attempts with ease to score a converted try from the resulting kick-off.
The hosts ended the half with Joe Eldridge gliding past tacklers to touch down for a converted try and a 31-0 half-time lead.
After the restart, a Milton scrum kept possession, and the backs moved the ball well to allow Conacher to score his second try before Corbett intercepted a pass and ran half the pitch length for a converted score.
The hosts were in complete control, and Hammerstone soon crossed for his second, before Nick McQueen ran through tackle attempts to score a converted try and Brown scoring his second.
Dalton Thomas scored the game’s final try down the home stretch after the backs completed another brilliant passing and running move.
Hammerstone slotted eight out of 11 attempted conversions.
