West Hants Pony Club secure treble at Horse of the Year Show
WEST Hants Pony Club claimed a cup treble at the Horse of the Year Show at the NEC, Birmingham.
The pony club, who were established in 1967 and are based in the New Forest, made a clean sweep taking the Thistledown Cup, Butlins Stable Cup and the Prince Phillip Cup which was presented by Sir AP McCoy.
The squad are only the second team ever to win all three cups and the first to win the Butlins Stable Cup three times in a row.
The club produced a fantastic display in the Prince Phillip Cup scoring a record 127 points and finishing 32 points ahead of the second-placed Atherstone Hunt.
Coach Jo Morris told the A&T: “It was overwhelming, and I am so proud of the whole team and their success.
"To win the Stable Cup was a highlight as it is a week-long achievement which takes in many factors like the politeness of the children and care of ponies, and it is adjudicated by independent judges which include international riders.
"We were brilliant, and we are all so happy.”
