Bournemouth Airport announces 10-year partnership with food and beverage operator SSP Group

FOOD outlets operator SSP Group has announced a 10-year partnership with Bournemouth Airport.

The collaboration is part of the airport’s multi-million pound transformation, which includes accommodating the arrival of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

SSP, which runs food and beverage outlets in travel locations, has assumed operation of the airport’s two existing food and beverage outlets, including a café bar and bar restaurant.

Over the next 12 months, SSP will provide significant investment to transform these venues into a newer, upgraded bar and kitchen concept, and a larger grab-and-go outlet that will ensure passengers have greater choice and value.

Kari Daniels, CEO of SSP UK & Ireland, said: “Bournemouth Airport is our first new UK airport location for several years, and demonstrates our growth strategy in action.

With over one million passengers passing through last year, and the start of 16 new routes this summer with the arrival of Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays, Bournemouth Airport is expanding its operations to meet growing customer demand.

It has invested £60m into new and improved facilities, with the upgraded food and drink offer “providing fresh new spots to grab a bite to eat or drink, improving passenger experiences and starting journeys in style”.
