Car flattens Royal Mail post box on Deerleap Way in Hythe




AN early morning car crash flattened a post box in Hythe this morning (Wednesday).

The vehicle mounted the pavement on Deerleap Way and uprooted the cast iron Royal Mail structure, before driving over it. It is believed the accident happened around 5.30am.

The incident was reported to Hampshire police just after 9.30am. A spokesperson said: "We have spoken with the vehicle owner and there is nothing further for police. No injuries were reported."

A Royal Mail spokesperson said it is looking into the matter.
