Four animals die in road accidents across the New Forest last week




FOUR animals died after collisions on New Forest roads last week.

Last Monday at 6.45pm a pony was put down by an agister after being injured in a collision on the B3078 at Roundhill.

On Thursday at 7.50pm a donkey was hit at Norleywood Crossroads, and also had to be put down.

The following day just after 7am, a donkey was killed in a hit-and-run at Hilltop, and on Sunday a pony wearing a reflective collar was put down after being injured on Burley Street in Burley.

Three further accidents involving ponies were reported on Sunday on the B3078 near Fordingbridge, Beaulieu Road at Lyndhurst, and at Hilltop. However, none of the animals could be found by agisters.
