Lymington B&B among friendliest in the country
A LYMINGTON guesthouse made it through to the finals of the AA B&B Awards 2019 for its service with a smile.
Britannia House in Station Road waannia s one of 17 premises chosen by a panel of AA inspectors in the Friendliest B&B of the Year category out of more than 2,000 nationwide.
The family-run business, which is just a short stroll from the town centre, prides itself on providing a home from home.
Owner Tobias Feilke commented said: “We like to think that guests come as strangers and leave as friends, as we encourage them to treat our home as their own!”
Born in Germany, Tobias moved to England to study hotel and catering management at the University of Surrey in Guildford. He worked at various hotels, including the luxury 5-star Chewton Glen Hotel in New Milton, before taking over Britannia House in 2000.
“I couldn’t have received a warmer welcome from the local community when I arrived in Lymington,” he said. “So I am absolutely over the moon to be able to extend that same friendliness to our B&B visitors. To be recognised for this with such a prestigious industry accolade is an honour.”
