Met Office issues severe thunderstorms warning
THUNDERSTORMS have been forecast for the New Forest and Christchurch tomorrow as the Met Office issues a yellow severe weather warning for the south west of England.
Some areas could be hit by lightning, hail, heavy rain and strong winds between midnight and 10pm, bringing a risk of flooding and disruption to travel.
The Met Office said: “There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
“Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, and there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
Once the storms have passed, though, the sun is expected to shine later this week, with temperatures predicted to reach 26C on Friday and Saturday.
