New homes behind shops on Long Lane in Holbury are approved

A DOWN-SIZED application for five homes in Holbury has been approved by planners at New Forest District Council.

Four two-bedroom flats and one house can now be built on land to the rear of 87-99 Long Lane, behind a parade of commercial units.

Applicant Clive Joyner withdrew his original bid for 10 homes at the site last November after it was criticised by Fawley Parish Council for being too high density.

He had subsequently applied to build eight flats.
