More car park and cycle track closures for New Forest pony drifts, including at Brockenhurst, Blackfield and Burley




FURTHER closures have been announced of New Forest car parks and cycle routes for this year's pony drifts.

The public have been urged by the verderers to steer clear of the round-ups in which livestock is checked by agisters and commoners.

On Tuesday 13th September, car parks will close in the Wilverley area of Brockenhurst at Wilverley Plain, Wilverley Pit, Wilverley Inclosure, along with Longslade Heath and Hincheslea Moor.

On Saturday 17th, Kings Copse cycle track in Blackfield will be closed off, while the village's car parks at Moonhills and Blackwell Common will be also no-go areas.

The following day drifts will take place in the Burley area, with car parks affected at Mill Lawn, Woods Corner, Clayhill and Lucy Hill.

On Friday 23rd, further round-ups at Brockenhurst will close off North Weirs and the School Green cycle tracks, as well as car parks at Beechern Wood, Whitefield Moor and Whitemoor Pond.

There has also been a drift announced for Penn Hill on Tuesday 20th, although there are no notices of any closures.
